BOOKS

Ever since I was little, writing books has been my dream. I started many but finished few. And those few never saw the (publishing) light of day. I usually gave up after around 40 pages and I can barely look at my old work anymore. I might upload something from my teenage years one day, just to give you an idea. Or not.

Then I tried to get a poem collection published for a while. The idea was to combine my writing with pictures from as many different contributors as possible … but that didn’t really work out either. So no books yet. Sorry.

Song adaptations

Translating songs into a different language (in my case either German or English) is quite a challenge. But it is great fun too! Finding the right words and rhymes to make it sound good while still preserving the meaning and feel of the original song – in a way it’s like a puzzle. I like it.

I’ve been interested in this field of work for several years now, and I’ve managed to create a few good translations (or rather adaptations). Here’s a selection:

Adam Lambert – Whataya want from me

Was du willst von mir

Gyllene Tider – Kung av sand

King of sand

Karel Gott & Darinka – Fang das Licht

Catch the light

Mozart! – Dich kennen heißt dich lieben

To know you is to love you [Version 1]

Peter Cornelius – Segel im Wind

Sail in the breeze

Roxette – Listen to your heart

Lausch tief in dein Herz

Westlife – You raise me up

Du gibst mir Kraft [Version 1-3]

Boyzone – When you say nothing at all

Was mir dein Schweigen verspricht

Jem – Come on closer

Jetzt und hier

Mel C – I turn to you

Ich komm zu dir

Mozart! – Dich kennen heißt dich lieben

To know you is to love you [Version 2]

Peter Cornelius – Segel im Wind

Boat on the sea

Roxette – You don't understand me

Kannst du's nicht verstehen

Wham! – Last Christmas

Subtitles

Subtitling is an area that I haven’t really found the time to get into yet. I’ve written the official German subtitles for some of Chris Thompson’s (supricky06) videos on YouTube a couple of years ago. I’ve also written several German subtitles for Shane Dawson’s old clips, but he never put them online. Too bad!

Other than that, there’s nothing much I could mention in this section. I think audio description might be a really fascinating field of work. Would be fun to try that someday.

If you want me to write your subtitles, feel free to contact me.

Poems

Over the last decade or so, I’ve posted countless short poems on Facebook and/or Twitter whenever I felt like writing. Poetry is what got me most of my Facebook fans. It’s more or less become my main creative focus for a couple of years. Here is an extensive collection of my favorite poems. Reading through all of them might take a while.

First I'll do the laundry
Then I'll do you
We'll need cleaner bed sheets
When we are through

Keep your hands burried inside me
When we do, we do it right
Kiss me passionately, bite me
Scratching kittens in a fight
Keep your eyes where I can see them
Drowning in my sweaty face
Stretch your breasts and let me free them
All these clothes are out of place
Keep me longing for a climax
While I keep you coming, doll
If they showed this act in IMAX
We'd be selling out the mall

I've been a friend and been a lover
I've saved and broken many lives
Been in your face and undercover
With girlfriends, playmates, missteps, wives

I've been adored and so obnoxious
Been smart and wise, and yet so dumb
I'm hard to put into those boxes
I've been alive, and dead and numb

Not long ago you were a stranger
I shouldn't miss you like I do
I feel I'm once again in danger
Of thinking way too much of you

Right by my side I have a soulmate
Who lets me play with others too
And I refuse to think it's too late
To think of other things than you

You're smoking again and it's making me sick
That thing in your mouth so much worse than his dick
Back then when you left me, I knew who you were
It seems like I lost what was us in a blur
